CEU team wins award for the Best Statement of Defence at the 2nd DCFR Moot in Warsaw

CEU team, comprised of Dmytro Galagan (S.J.D. Candidate), Nino Jajanidze (LL.M. ‘14), Erik Kotlárik (S.J.D. Candidate) and Patricia Živković (S.J.D. Candidate)won the award for the Best Statement of Defence at the 2nd Draft Common Frame of Reference (DCFR) Warsaw International Arbitration Moot.
The team qualified to the finals as one of eight teams reaching the highest scores in the written stage of the Moot, which consisted of submission of the Statement of Claim in June, 2014 and the Statement of Defence in July, 2014. The oral rounds took place in Warsaw at the premises of the Court of Arbitration at Polish Chamber of Commerce on 10-12 December 2014.

The moot is organized every second year by the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the European Legal Studies Institute. It is intended to popularize and disseminate knowledge about the DCFR prepared by the Study Group on a European Civil Code and the Research Group on EC Private Law (Acquis Group), and to promote the use of arbitration to resolve international commercial disputes in accordance with the DCFR.
