Mahmoud Elsaman, a legal consultant based in Washington D.C., currently lends his expertise to the World Bank Group. His previous association with a top-tier law firm in Egypt further solidifies his credentials.

Mahmoud's current SJD research boldly delves into the adverse effects of investor-state dispute settlement on promoting domestic good governance in host states. Specifically, he sheds light on the indeterminacy of the international FET standard and its impact on domestic policies, navigating the fine balance between attracting foreign direct investment and maintaining domestic good governance.
